Ginger is a devoted environmental justice activist with over 20 years of experience as a community organizer and educator for frontline communities in Houston, New York, and Los Angeles. She is currently completing a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Houston – Downtown where she is also a SUSTAIN Scholar at the university’s Center for Urban Agriculture and Sustainability. Her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies examines the common intersections that exist between Sustainability, Environmental Health, and Public Art. She is enthusiastic about continuing her career in service by engaging her community in environmental education and activism.
As of late, Ginger is focusing on creating culturally responsive, permaculture based solutions that will effectively address environmental disparities by empowering community members as community leaders and change agents.
