Gwen is a Planner in Asakura Robinson’s Minneapolis office. She holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Minnesota, and a BA in Environmental Studies from Carleton College. Gwen was drawn to planning by her interests and previous work in food and agriculture policy, community development, and urban gardening, and by watching the cities she grew up in develop and change. As a planner, she strives to center the agency of communities in the planning and development process, and to advocate for greater environmental justice, equity, and quality of life for all residents. At Asakura Robinson, her work has supported small area and neighborhood planning, equity-focused park systems, climate resilience, and inclusive community engagement.
Gwen grew up in San Rafael, California and Portland, Oregon, and has spent the last 12 years in Minnesota. Outside of work you can find her gardening with her neighbors, browsing at the record store, taking photos, and wandering around the Twin Cities’ neighborhoods and natural areas on foot or bike.
