As an Accounting Associate, Lauren Martinez has been meeting the accounting and support needs of various Houston companies and executives for the past fifteen years in fields varying from manufacturing, graphic design and marketing. With her careful and analytical mind, she is able to perform precise tasks, ensuring that financial transactions are accurately represented. A native Houstonian with an ever-growing love for her city, she finds time to volunteer with local women and children’s charities, and organizations that uplift under-resourced communities. She has studied business at local schools like Houston Community College and University of Houston-Downtown.
When she’s not hanging out with her husband and two little girls, she finds peace in the outdoors or being crafty. She loves to cook, watch old horror films, bullet journal, and seeks to master the art of calligraphy.
What’s your favorite type of community engagement activity?
An art, food, or music festival, preferably outdoors!
What project are you most proud of?
This summer, I successfully propagated a tomato plant from stem cuttings. I also managed to use my kitchen scraps to regrow green onions (easy), napa cabbage (not easy), and celery. Who knew singing to plants helped their growth 😉
If you had the superpower to make a bigger impact on communities/ cities/ or environments what superpower would you have?
I would love to be able to heal afflictions in people and our Earth.
