Asakura Robinson Projects Awarded in 2017

We are pleased to announce that three Asakura Robinson projects took home four different awards in 2017.

The South Central Waterfront Vision Framework Plan, completed for the City of Austin, was awarded the 2017 Sustainable Urban Design Plan award from the Sustainable Communities Division of the American Planning Association and the 2017 Honor Award from the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The plan had previously received a Project Planning Award from the Central Texas Section of the APA in 2016.

The Vacant Lot Toolkit, completed for the City of Pittsburgh, was the recipient of a Planning Excellence Award for Best Practices from the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Planning Association.

Finally, the Downtown Austin Parking Strategy, completed for the Downtown Austin Alliance by a team lead by Nelson Nygaard, was awarded a Project Planning Award by the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association.

Additionally, one of our newest staff members, Saima Musharrat, won the Texas APA Student Project Award for her Thesis project, Reclaiming Vacancies.
