Amanda Wheeless is a journalist-turned-marketer, passionate about how storytelling and targeted messaging impacts business success. She was born with printer’s ink in her blood, and for 10 years she worked in the newspaper world, weaving stories as a features editor of an East Texas daily newspaper.
Marketing came naturally to her, and in 2008 she took the leap into the AEC industry. Since then, she has worked in Civil Engineering, Architecture and now is leading the marketing efforts as Marketing Director at Asakura Robinson.
When she’s not working, Amanda enjoys traveling with her family, exploring the great outdoors, and volunteering her time with local non-profits Bookspring and Central Texas Food Bank. She also enjoys running around Austin, so if you see her on the street, say hey!

For me, work is all about collaboration and enjoying your team. The people make all the difference, so it’s important to get to know everyone and have a few laughs throughout the day.
What’s your favorite type of community engagement activity?
Anything outdoors! Volunteering with Austin Parks Foundation to clean up community parks is pretty great.
What’s your creative tool of choice?
