Jacob completed his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he developed a foundational interest in ecological systems and resilient infrastructure. Currently pursuing a Master of Landscape Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin, he focuses his research on the intersection of community driven design and stormwater management.
Raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he has grown to love the unique qualities of the American Southwest landscapes. Jacob hopes to continue his academic and professional growth to leverage design as a tool to address critical climate challenges, like drought and flooding. Outside of the studio, he remains an avid outdoorsman, mainly hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding. At home, he enjoys the company of his black cat Baloo and his extensive plant collection.
Immersion in nature is the best generative tool. Looking to the systems that have been at play for millennia has always driven me to be a more thoughtful designer.

My senior capstone studio from my time at the University of Colorado Boulder is the project that I am most proud of. Named for the river confluence that its set at, St. Vrain Links is a restorative stormwater park in Lyons, Colorado. Encompassing multiple FEMA buyout properties, St. Vrain Links challenges existing conceptions of regional stormwater systems to create an accessible, didactic resolution.
